Blender Cloth

Hello,
Today I have started to mess around with cloth simulations with some success, it is starting to look quite effective but rather simple. The hardware on the computers is slowing me down however.
I have to do my maths exam today straight after this. Once I do my tax in the next week I will be starting to buy the components of my new computer.
The computer cost is about $2000 with a quad core i7 2600k CPU and an gigabyte UD7 motherboard. It will be running a 256 GB SSD with 32 GB DDR3 ram. It will have dual graphics card for a total of 4GB DDR5 graphics. Liquid cooled and an awesome looking case.
I will be adding more hard drives with time.
That’s it for now thanks.
check out my computer parts that i will need.

New Semester

Hello,
This is the first day of semester two and I am annoyed to find out that I can only work about an hour every week now that my maths at college has interfered. Well during this term I am going to continue to work on numerous projects some little animation that I hope to be shown at the assembly. My FPS will be a major part of this semester which I do not think it will be finished before the end of the year but it will look a lot better by the end.
The new computers promised at the start of the year will not be arriving until the end of the year so if I do too much stuff in blender than it will crash the computer which is a lot of trouble and is holding back my work a lot.
Today I am going to mess around with cloth simulations while I have a few moments. It is going to be  a long semester now that Maths has changed days.

Progress report

Hello,
Just a prgress report on my FPS I am creating in blender. I have contacted Mike so that I could legally use his animation as my intro to my game. Over the past few time I have started to create a few weapons starting with a pistol then an AK47 and soon a knife. I still havent found out how I can make my character get into the car and planes that I have made. Somehow my rope bridge has corrupted and isnt working now.
Anyway I will be off now

Working on Blender Projects

Any way it’s been a while since I started this blog and thought it would be good to write an update.
Lately I have been working with hair and designing characters for my first person shooter that I am working on. The lack of computer power now is starting to show with the computer now slowing down drastically when I run my game. Still it’s coming along nicely for my first FPS. My car physics are messing u a bit but with a little fiddling I think I will be able to fix that.

So far my character is still the default cube but once I finish my character creation I will replace it and start of bullet systems and a cool looking gun, and maybe some enemies.

Some new plans for my game so far is to have a volcano, river and rain in interaction distance. I might put in a gunship or something similar.

The car in the game is working alright as it doesn’t crash the game. I will need to make a better terrain for it to drive on though as at the moment it is driving in sand dunes.

Any suggestion would be appreciated and I will try to post a video of what it is starting to look like next time.

p.s. This is what is going to power my new computer.

About My Experience With Blender

Hello,
My name is Jake I am new to this blogging thing but I have decided to share some of my work I have created using the program Blender. I haven’t used the program a lot and with my current computer system it is making it harder to make better quality projects. I am currently saving up for a new computer that will allow me to create better blender projects without crashing the computer.

I am only relatively new to this programming and I have looked at others accomplishments with the program and I decided I wanted to do something similar. So I went to Blender.org to download the free program to see if I could try and recreate some of the things I had seen. The program looked complex I admit but I was determined to try and work it out without too much help from the outside.

I eventually made something which was a dodgy looking helmet type thing. I would have to admit it looked terrible. It was my first project so I wasn’t too disappointed with it but once I learnt a bit more about blender,  I found out how to do a few better things that look great compared to my first attempt. For instance I messed around with liquids.

Liquids were a complex thing to me at the time because every time I “baked” the fluid my computer would freeze up for hours until it was done. With this major flaw in my plan of liquids I soon ditched the project until I buy my new computer so I will work. I looked for something else to do in blender and that is when I found the game engine. At first I just made a simple game where you were a ball and you had to knock down a massive tower of dominoes. That game was pretty basic so I didn’t know how to improve it further with my current knowledge.

Modelling was the next phase I got into with me making my first person. That didn’t turn out well the first time around. However my modelling really took off when my school teacher saw me designing cars and vehicles in information technology. I have made a total of six cars, two tanks and a plane in blender so far. With my new experience with modelling I went back to games and I am currently in the progress of making a first person shooter in blender with some of the vehicles I have made.

Well that’s enough about what I do in blender for the time being. I would recommend anyone to try it as you will be amazed at what you can do in a program. I am sure there are a lot of tutorials out there if you go search for them. Just Google it you have nothing to lose.
